MarketBuzz - Stock Market Intelligence app for iPhone and iPad

MarketBuzz is a news and social media intelligence tool for stock market investors, giving retail investors the news monitoring tools that were until now only available to hedge funds and quants.

The MarketBuzz data center monitors thousands of news, blog and social media sites for coverage of the top 3000 US stocks by market cap, and analyzes the data to identify the stocks that are most talked about right now.

If a stock suddenly gets unusual news coverage, or more people than usual start talking about a stock on Twitter, MarketBuzz will detect this and make this information available to its users immediately. This enables the investor to see which stocks are in play right now, and find out why they are in play using the integrated newsreader.

The MarketBuzz app scores how much coverage a stock is getting compared to how much coverage that stock has received historically, and ranks the stocks accordingly.

The ranked stocks are displayed as large icons showing the stock symbol, the price change and the number of news articles, blog posts and tweets have been published about the stock in the past 24 hours. Tapping a stock’s icon opens a screen displaying an intraday stock chart as well as three columns with all recent news and blog headlines and tweets about the stock.

The app includes an integrated text-only newsreader making it very fast and convenient to read all the news, blogs and tweeted links for a specific stock of interest.
